Hiejin Yoo is a young rising voice in contemporary painting. She is known for her delicate, psychologically charged compositions that blend figuration with surrealism. Born in Germany with Korean descent, she is now based in Los Angeles. Yoo filters everyday scenes and emotions through memory, intuition, and color. Her canvases draw from daily life, with a focus on nature, blending dreamlike impressions, internal dialogue, and personal symbols into scenes that feel at once familiar and otherworldly.
Yoo’s work has been shown in museums around the world, including the FLAG Art Foundation in New York, ICA Miami, K11 Art Museum in Shanghai, Gana Art in Seoul, amounts others. Her paintings are held in major public and private collections, including the Pérez Collection, the FLAG Art Foundation, Xiao Museum (China), the High Museum of Art (Atlanta), Hort Family Collection, among others.
