Anna Maria Maiolino is a Brazilian artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, drawing, performance, and installation. Her work engages deeply with themes of memory, identity, language, and the human body, often reflecting on displacement, personal history, and the passage of time. Maiolino has been a pioneering figure in Latin American contemporary art since the 1970s.

Maiolino’s work has been widely exhibited internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York; the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art; and the Tate Modern, London. Her practice continues to be recognized for its subtle yet profound engagement with materiality, form, and conceptual rigor.
